Defining PPGCB's commitment to basic education, activities with primary and secondary school students from public schools began in 2014 through the holding of Science Diving and Popularization of Science for Basic Education, where students are brought to the Institute Of Biological Sciences to interact with researchers, students of scientific initiation, post-graduate students and post-doctoral students linked to the PPGCB. The students of the basic education participate in a lecture with the purpose of highlighting the importance of the scientific discoveries and the positive transformations that they bring to the people. In order to whet interest and curiosity about research, students also highlight the importance of the knowledge they are acquiring in basic education as the fundamental basis for the improvement of the wisdom that scientific research demands. Afterwards, students visit the research laboratories, interacting with researchers and students, knowing the research carried out in the Graduate Program in Biological Sciences and the possible applications they may represent for society.
